Evolutionary biology; basic ideas, methods and case studies in primate brain evolution (a brief introduction for neuroscience students) With the continuing development of advanced analytical/experimental tools, evolutionary biology has not only substantially deepened its own
understanding of some long-lasting problems, but also unprecedentedly influences other biological fields, such as microbiology, immunology and developmental biology. In this journal club for neuroscience students, the basic ideas and methods of evolutionary biology will be briefly reviewed, with further examples illustrating its interplay with various experimental researches, including a recent discovery regarding primate brain evolution.
